Happy Tuesday Y’all!
Today I am revealing my neutral, Fall Tablescape! I always say that dining room tables are my absolute favorite thing to style! Fall table decor is so beautiful and welcoming! Which after all, is what dining rooms are all about! My mission with The Olive Branch is to redeem family spaces and create a place for people to gather in love! Keep reading for tips on styling your own inviting fall tablescape!
My entire house is decorated in neutrals with small pops of accent colors. I get bored of bright colors easily and as much as I would love to re-decorate weekly, my fiancé would kill me! For this reason, I choose neutral fall colors for my decor every year. This year’s tablescape is all about the neutral greens and whites! My accent colors are black and gold, with small pops of wood and tan.
Choosing colors that are neutral keep your seasonal decor from becoming too overwhelming. They are also easier to blend in with your current home decor, allowing you to prepare for fall with minimal effort!
I am a huge fan of layers and affordability when it comes to place settings. For my fall tablescape I chose to use the braided jute placemats from Target, white distressed charger plates from Hobby Lobby and simple black glass plates from Walmart. I layered these 3 pieces on top of one another and placed a Magnolia Hearth and Hand cloth napkin as the final layer. The final touch was a simple green and gold ceramic pumpkin from the Target Dollar Section.

The key to any centerpiece is finding your perfect center decor piece and styling everything around it. For my dining room table, I always use a white, chippy wooden box. It is large and sturdy and fits the modern farmhouse theme of my home perfectly. I found it at one of my favorite festivals Glendale Days in Glendale, KY 2 years ago. Usually, I fill it with candles and greenery, followed by whatever small items fit the season. For fall I, of course, used pumpkins. Pumpkins of all shapes, sizes, and variations of color. I have two garlands of seeded eucalyptus on each side of the centerpiece. These garlands can be purchased in my online store, for 10% off using code SHOP LOCAL.
A good rule for centerpieces is symmetry. Whatever you put on one side, put it on the other. This is why I try to buy decor accents in even numbers. If you have 1 or 2 pieces you love, you can use them as a center item and only use 1. For this year, I used my white glass Mr & Mrs. pumpkin because in 23 days I am getting married! It’s always fun to throw in some sentimental items if you can! As you can see in the photo above, each item is used twice, keeping the tablescape balanced. The greenery inside the box is from Hobby Lobby and is a great filler item for displays like this.
The final decor accent I want to highlight is the most simple! For a table runner this year I used a roll of tan butcher paper. I rolled it out so it hung about a foot down on either side of the table. This was super cheap (about $3) and incredibly simple. It can be thrown away and replaced if it gets anything on it and is a great neutral color.
The BEST part of this simple table runner? It can be written on!! Above is before I added one of my favorite verses Acts 2:46. The below is after!
“They broke bread in their homes & ate with glad & sincere hearts” Acts 2:46
This turned out to be one of my favorite tablescapes I have done so far! I hope you are feeling inspired to start your fall table today. Any questions or comments? Leave them below!
